Kristin’s Top 10 Favorite Things (Part 2)

Are you ready for my top 5 favs?

Let’s get straight to it!

#5 Iris Design Jewelry

When I was In my early twenties, I had a jewelry and accessories business (I’ve had a lot of random jobs). I had my employee identification number for a small business, so I was able to access several wholesale sites.

This access meant that I could see how much things cost to make, and how much the companies suggested businesses should charge for them. It was shocking to see how some things that were cheap to make were marked up so much! I didn’t feel comfortable charging people high prices for products that were inexpensive to make, so my business didn’t last long!

When I came across Iris Design’s jewelry, I was so excited to buy everything up! Each piece is handmade and gorgeous! They are good quality which is the reason they stood out among the thousands of other jewelry companies I saw. I love the originality of their jewelry—they are beautiful statement pieces. They also make the best gifts for your girlfriends!

Fast forward a few years, and you can find Iris Design jewelry on Etsy. Check them out!

#4 Swell Water Bottles3

If you follow yours truly on Instagram, you’ve already seen the mini pic/post about my Swell bottle.

Here’s the story: One morning, I made some hot tea to take to work. I ordered an Uber, which came faster than I anticipated, so I ran out the door sans tea!

I was thinking about my tea all day at work and was SO bummed that I forgot it. When I came home from work eight hours later and opened my Swell bottle… WOW! The tea was still as hot as if I had just made it! This is life-changing because there is nothing worse than your hot coffee or tea turning lukewarm. Yuck! If you don’t do anything else this week, at least order yourself a Swell bottle.

I did have one issue with my Swell bottle, though. When I first used it, there was this blue stuff from the design on the outside of the bottle that got all over my hands. I was slightly annoyed by that. However, the solution is simple: wash the bottle with soap and water and you’re good to go!

It’s okay, Swell bottle, I still love you!

#3 Pure Synergy by The Synergy Company4

I’ll keep this one short and sweet—this stuff is remarkable! There are days when I’m running around and do not have the time to make a super green smoothie. There are other days when I do not have access to my veggies. When those days happen, it’s Pure Synergy to the rescue!

Pure Synergy is a green powder you can add to a drink or smoothie that is packed with SIXTY certified organic superfoods that your body needs for optimal health. I’ll end with an excerpt from their website:

“Pure Synergy is just that, completely pure, with no fillers, GMOs, maltodextrin, fibers, artificial sweeteners, colorings, flavorings, additives, or preservatives of any kind whatsoever—just 100% pure and potent certified organic whole-food concentrates.”

Drink your greens, people!

#2 Sinu Orega by North American Herb & Spice2

THE best nasal spray on the market!

I was always wary of using nasal sprays because most of them create a dependency where you have to use it every day to keep your sinuses open and working correctly.

Sinu Orega is great because it is made from all-natural potent spice extracts mixed with sea salt so its formula does not create a dependency. You can use it on an as-needed basis. It cleanses your sinuses and helps to open them when you have a stuffed up nose.

Warning: This stuff burns like &^%%@$ when you first use it!

I had a bad cold the first time I used it. I decided that I would go full throttle with the squeezing of the bottle because that’s what a smart person would do, right?

AHHH! It burned so much!!!

Five minutes later, I was clear and able to breathe through my nose again.

Simply wonderful!

#1 ELDOA & Myo-Fascial Stretching (MFS)

1Oh, man.

I almost didn’t put this one on my list, but it would be a disservice to not let you in on this.

The good news is that ELDOA & MFS classes are starting to gain popularity across the country, so you will be able to find one nearby very soon (if there aren’t classes being offered around you already).

Okay, so what is ELDOA? ELDOA was developed by world-renowned osteopath and orthopedic MD, Guy Voyer (check out his website here). ELDOA is the French acronym for Etirements Longitudinaux aver Decoaptation Osteo-Articulaire—quite the mouthful! It’s translated as Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching. It is a method of exercise that focuses on fascia biomechanics and works to improve the function of targeted joints while strengthening the muscles that support the spine.

Attend these classes regularly, and it will change your life. I walk out feeling recalibrated and energized! Some of the benefits of ELDOA include better posture, improved metabolic/hormonal balance, reducing or eliminating chronic joint pain, relieving back and neck pain, and so much more!

The classes that I attend are kind of exclusive. They are not advertised at all, and you need to be added to their e-mail group for class schedules. If you are in the Santa Monica area, comment below with your e-mail and I will see what I can do for you! Occasionally, you might see a random professional athlete drop in the class when they are in the area or if it’s off-season, but the classes are small and very chill.

I love ELDOA so much because it has greatly improved the quality of my life. This is exactly why it is found at the top of my list of favorite things!

There you have it, folks! I hope you try out my favorite things and they become your favorite things, too! I only ask that you do not buy so much that there’s no more left for me!

Take care and Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. Shann Eva

You’ve got some really interesting stuff on here. I would love to try one of those classes. I’m going to have to look into it. I also need one of those Swell bottles. That is awesome!

    1. rousers_are_read

Shann, ELDOA is the best class you can take! The reason it is not as big as other classes is because each trainer has to be certified by Guy Voyer. It takes about a year or two to complete all of the courses. Each ELDOA instructor is educated properly, and I appreciate that so much!

  2. Rica@ Yoga Mat Monkey

I think I need everything on this list. Not sure if I should thank you for the great suggestions or be angry for tempting me to spend! The Synergy looks awesome. I am a fan of Amazing Grass powders, but they taste like dirt and seaweed. I’ll see how I like Synergy. The nasal spray is a must to, as I’ve had a runny nose for months now and never take anything because I’m afraid of the rebound effect. I’m sure I have an allergy issue. Good post!

Thank you so much! No need to be angry- namaste! haha! The Pure Synergy has a high price tag, but it lasts for a long time. All green powders have that “earthy” taste, but if you mix them with the right stuff, you can barely taste it! I will post up my protein shake and smoothie recipes soon!

In the meantime, definitely try the Sinu Orega! It is amazing!!!!
